Launching and Signing of Tasboun in Danger Kids Book- 2 December 2015:
Under the patronage of the Director General of the Ministry of Education Mr. Fadi Yarak and in cooperation with Drosos Swiss Foundation , the Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa launched “Tabsoun in danger/Tabsoun fi Khatar” kids book on Wednesday, December, 2 2015 within the Arab Book Fair in BIEL in the presence of the writer Nagib Kassar accompanied by the Mascot of Tabsoun.
APJM 3rd Fundraising Gala Dinner- 27 October 2015:
The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa organized its Annual Gala Dinner at Le Bristol on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in the presence of political and economic figures and Jabal Moussa supporters and friends, an event that was placed under the double patronage of Minister of Tourism Mr. Michel Pharaon and United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon Ms. Sigrid Kaag.
The member of the “Cercle des Grands Amis du Jabal Moussa” Journalist Marcel Ghanem and Dr Myrna Semaan Haber were honored during the gala and our local guides accompanied the invitees on a walk during which they had the chance to know more about Jabal Moussa through several interactive stations that represented the main features of the mountain and the diverse activities of the association.
Chouwan network trails and eco boutique inauguration- 20 June 2015:
Under the patronage of his Excellency Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon and Her Excellency Special Coordinator for the United Nations in Lebanon, Sigrid Kaag , the Association for tge Protection of Jabal Moussa inaugurated its new ecotourism network of hiking trails within its ecotourism program, a project funded by Mr. Khalil Fattal.
The Chouwan eco-boutique was also launched and the Jabal Moussa food and handicraft products and publications are displayed in there, a boutique fully refurbished within the CODEP project funded by DROSOS foundation.

Christmas Kids festivity - Yahchouch - 27 December 2012
APJM organized a Christmas festivity in Yahchouch village gathering around 200 children from the villages surrounding Jabal Moussa. Tabsoun Jabal Moussa and "Kazadoo" were the stars of the show and the book of "Tabsoun Tabsoun" was distributed to all the attendees at the end of the day.
IUCN Director General, Julia Marton-Lefevre's Visit to Jabal Moussa- 29 November 2012
During her visit to Lebanon, IUCN Director General Ms. Julia Marton Lefevre visited Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve on the 29th of of November 2012 in the presence of IUCN Regional Director for MED Mr. Antonio Troya, General Manager of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve Mr. Nizar Hani and APJM President and team members.
Passing by Nahr Ibrahim river, they explored Chouwan village, passed by Yahchouch native tree nursery, stopped by the equipped food production unit in Ghbeleh and met with some of the local women, dropped by the "Dimitriades" Bed and Breakfast Guest House in Ghbeleh and finally visited the Mchati reserve entrance and the Mchati native tree nursery.
Launch of the Lebanon National Programme- IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature)- 29 November 2012
On Thursday the 29th of November 2012, the Lebanon National Committee for IUCN hosted a ceremony marking the official launch of the Lebanon National Programme- IUCN; this ceremony was chaired by IUCN Director General Julia Marton-Lefèvre.
APJM being a member of the IUCN Lebanon National Committee, APJM's President Pierre Doumet had the opportunity to highlight some of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve's features and latest achievements.
AFED Conference- 29-30 November 2012
APJM participated in this conference as Member of AFED and it's President Mr. Pierre Doumet had an important intervention about the role of business in reducing ecological footrprint.
Also, IUCN Director General Julia Marton-Lefèvre gave a keynote speech at the opening session of the conference, promoting nature-based solutions for sustainable economic and social development in the Middle East / Gulf region.

The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa organized a lunch at Tawlet Souk el Tayeb- Mar Mkhael Nahr Beirut on Thursday October 18th, 2012 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
A Traditional lunch was prepared by two great ladies from Yahchouch village: Ms. Therese Khalil and Ms. Badr Keyrouz and during which the invitees and restaurant customers had the opportunity to discover Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve and meet APJM's team.

Visit of Nicolas Hulot to Lebanon- 24 and 25 September 2012
Nicolas Hulot, the famous journalist-reporter and founder and president of the Fondation Nicolas-Hulot, visited Lebanon on September 24 and 25 as part of "Rencontres de la Résidence des pins", organized by the French Institute of Lebanon.
During his stay, Nicolas Hulot was invited by Terre Liban to the Baabda forest, guest of honor in a debate under the theme "Education and Environment in Lebanon" and during which the Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa had the opportunity to present its work and achievements in the presence of Mr. Hulot, several local organizations and schools with a special focus on "Tabsoun Tabsoun" kids book.

Launching of "Jabal Moussa" Handicraft and Food Products brand- 12 August 2012
On August 12th 2012, the Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa (APJM) organized the launching of the Jabal Moussa handicraft and food products, developed under the MEPI funded project “Supporting Small Initiatives of Traditional Food Production and Handicraft in Rural Areas” of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve, at a ceremony held at St Sarkis and Bakhos church square in Ghbeleh, Ftouh-Kesserwan. The Jabal Moussa handicraft and food products program benefited 37 women by enhancing their role through a home entrepreneurial initiative launched by APJM in an attempt to provide an adapted marketing channel that leverages ecotourism in the region.
Local ingredients are used to prepare "Jabal Moussa” branded products in a newly equipped state-of-the-art food production unit located at the Immaculate Conception School in Ghbeleh.
These women now have the opportunity to sell their “Jabal Moussa” branded handicraft and traditional food products at the Biosphere Reserve entrance in Mchati as first point of sales; these products will also eventually be brought to the wider Lebanese market very soon.

Garden Show & Spring Festival 2011 Exhibition- 29 May 2012 till 2 June 2012
The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa participated actively at the Garden Show & Spring Festival 2012 from May 29th till June 2, 2012 from 4:00 till 10:00 pm.
More than 1000 persons visited its stand and the work and achievements of the Association were clearly showcased.
APJM team with Mr. Heath Cosgrove from USAID
The Association for the Protection of Jabal Moussa (APJM) participated actively at the Garden Show & Spring Festival 2011 that took place at Beirut Hippodrome from May 24 till May 28, 2011 from 4:00 to 10:00 pm under the title of : "Jabal Moussa: a Living Forest" .
APJM’s stand was located in the “Authentic Lebanon” section and highlighted some of Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve’s features and new findings.

Inauguration of Jabal Moussa as the newest Biosphere Reserve in Lebanon- October 2011
On October 23 2010, the inauguration of Jabal Moussa as the newest Biosphere Reserve in Lebanon took place in the village of Mshete with the full support of the Italian Development Cooperation/ Embassy of Italy in Lebanon and UNESCO office.
This event crowned the completion of the establishment of the ecotourism infrastructure in the reserve. The guests had a chance to witness this by walking on the newly developed trails, following the new signals and panels which assure a safe and pleasant trip. The hikes were followed by a gathering in the church of the village for a series of presentations about the Biosphere reserve and the ecotourism project and finally a traditional lunch in one of the local houses.
The one-year project aims at:
1- Promoting the biological, cultural and historical values of the area, thus conserving it from uncontrolled human activities;
2- Establishing basic infrastructure and institutional system to promote ecotourism and recreational activities based on a long-term ecotourism strategy.
This survey is being carried out by a team of teachers and students from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology-St Joseph University, under the supervision of Dr. Roula Abi Habib Khoury, Head of Department.Located between Nahr El Dahab (Kesrouan) and Nahr Ibrahim(Jbeil).
Jabal Moussa is a site extending over 1250 ha and altitudes ranging from 500 to 1500 meters. The reserve, declared a “Global Important Bird Area” earlier this year, lies along the regional migratory birds flyway where massive migration occurs on its territories. It hosts at least 83 bird species, of which 7 are regionally and globally threatened. Mammals of Jabal Moussa include species that are wholly or partially limited to the Middle East region. The flora of the Jabal Moussa Mountain is rich in endemic (native) species with high genetic and economic values.
